All odia pray to the Lord jagannath and Puri Gajapati Maharaj is considered as living representation of the Lord according to Odia tradition so King of Puri "Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb" considered as king of Odisha.Also Gajapati Maharaj is Lord Jagannath’s "Aadyasevak" (treated as the first and foremost servant).
